About two hours ago I finished or rather prepared the undercoating for the very first jag’ mallet. Richard won the extensive selection procedure for the name of the model with great pomp, unfortunately it was only subsequently discovered that the name and graphic design is very similar to the brand used by a well known company. So I abandoned Richie’s design temporarily and have marked the model with a working number and name of 461 (Ocean Boullevard). We will come up with something before it goes into serial production. So far this entails 20 pieces with numbering (sequence T00.20) being untraditionally stamped on the hitting area, 3 types of shafting (DB, SB, C – on the top middle and blade of the top middle), 350 grams (so whatever you are accustomed to), RH and LH models without saying. The coating will be silver matt, the sides and bottom in high gloss. It seems really good when I tested it in the workshop. It has a wonderful swing, the head is very small (smaller than you would expect) and seems to force you to hit the sweet spot. We will have to wait and see in the spring on the green. The first pieces will be finished at the end of the first week in 2009, the photos (thanks to the court studio photographer loafing around somewhere in Micronesia, Polynesia, or who knows, somewhere between New Zealand and Japan) will appear a little later. Have a nice time, all the best in the new year and lots of health!
