A proper number needs writing down. Best of all in a score card. If you are not close to par, how many times it is really hard to remember everything. Everyone can remember being on the seventeenth perhaps at +2, from the eighteenth to the clubhouse and for the next 14 days (or even by the end of the season). For the rest of us there is a case for the score card with a pencil holder, a rubber band in the centre and edges in the corners so the record sheet stays in place well, does not crease or get wet or, God forbid, does not get lost. It fits comfortably into the bag or trouser pocket. It comes in red in slightly textured, smooth dark blue or brown wrinkled leather. Price is CZK/ 490/EUR19, limited in number as always.
If the golf score is not important for you, you only play for pleasure or cash in directly from the hole, you can use the case for keeping photographs of your loved ones, a Tesco shopping list without which you cannot come home, a phone number for the doctor of body, soul or swing, the opening hours of the local used ball retailer, or whatever else you need for a comfortable round. If you prefer a female rather than a male doctor then I would personally not keep the number there.
